Our Signature House Blend: Blackbird Garana
Our signature coffee is our own Blackbird Garana House Blend.
Garana is a full-body blend, offering a smooth, earthy taste with a sweet, caramel finish. Our beans and ground coffee varieties allow you to brew your Blackbird Espresso your way.
The word “Garana” is the local Gimuy Walubara Yidinji word for the Black Cockatoo. We have chosen to use the local word in respect of the culture, preservation of language and acknowledgement of the local First Nations People.

Blackbird Laneway
Blackbird Laneway, the birthplace of Blackbird Espresso, is situated inside the Oceana Walk Arcade in the heart of Cairns city. This bustling espresso bar is open 7 days a week and offers a relaxed atmosphere.
We offer a range of fresh, locally sourced sweet treats, perfect to enjoy with our expertly crafted coffee. We also sell a selection of beans, brewing equipment, and merchandise, all available for purchase at any time.

Blackbird Warehouse
Our second location opened two years after Laneway and was the original home of our supplier and parent company, Coffee NQ. Located in the industrial area of Bungalow, our spacious café offers the same great favourites as Laneway.
With plenty of on-street parking, Warehouse is a popular choice for early work commutes and lazy weekend mornings.

AFL Cape York House
Blackbird Espresso has been a proud supporter of AFL Cape York House Foundation since 2017. The Foundation does incredible work to improve social and emotional well-being, educational and employment outcomes for Indigenous young people in remote communities.
AFL Cape York Houses in Cairns and Redlynch are a “home away from home” for 100 young people from 45 communities of Far North Queensland, providing a safe and culturally appropriate environment for young people to board while completing their education.
