From the outset, our goal has been an unwavering commitment to providing exceptional customer service and premium products. Envisioned by founders Troy and Daniela Furner and guided today by general manager Brent Powell and a fantastic team, we’re combining two decades of industry experience to provide the best beans and more to homes, businesses, cafes, and hospitality venues. We’re dedicated to delivering freshness and consistency in every bag, to ensure you have an exceptional coffee experience that resonates with the culture Coffee NQ was founded on.
Our Journey: From A Home Garage To A Regional Roastery
Coffee NQ began in 2014 as a family-run business operating out of Troy and Daniela’s home garage. Simultaneously, the small Blackbird Espresso Bar was opened in Oceana Walk. Despite these humble origins, the business quickly garnered a stellar reputation for outstanding supply and service. From there, a diverse and expanding client base grew throughout Far North Queensland.
Responding to emerging demand, the Coffee NQ Warehouse and a second Blackbird Espresso café were opened in 2016. This expansion not only increased the brand’s visibility but also facilitated the growth of the wholesale team.
A pivotal moment came in 2020 when Troy and Daniela sold the business to trusted supplier Sunshine Coast Coffee Roastery. This transition provided Coffee NQ with enhanced resources and industry expertise, propelling the business further towards becoming the premier provider of comprehensive coffee solutions in North Queensland.

Experienced Coffee Suppliers
We offer reliable wholesale supply and delivery of specialty coffee beans, including hands-free coffee bean subscription services, and automatic repeat orders or monthly reminders for our contracted clients. We even provide free coffee delivery in Queensland, from Daintree to Ferntree Gully.
Custom Coffee Blending Services
We specialise in crafting unique, hand-roasted custom coffee blends tailored to specific preferences for cafes, businesses, and coffee-loving homes. We have the beans and brain to match the flavour profile of existing coffees too. Our process involves consultation, bean selection from global ethical suppliers, tailored blend recipes, small-batch roasting, and ongoing refinement and consistency testing.

We stock homes, workplaces, and cafes with long-lasting, high-quality tools fit for the job. Specialising in wholesale coffee equipment sales, we direct clients to high-quality, affordable replacements or upgrades, or pre-serviced, refurbished coffee machines and equipment at a lower price point. We focus on supplying commercial coffee machines for cafes with options to buy or rent, including delivery, setup, installation, barista training, and ongoing support included.
Coffee Machine Servicing & Repairs
We offer professional coffee machine servicing and coffee equipment repairs for local cafes, businesses, and organisations in the Far North Queensland region. Our team handles everything from regular preventative maintenance to fast and efficient emergency repairs. We service all kinds of machines, including traditional espresso models, automatic machines, bulk brew models, and renowned brands like La Marzocco, Expobar, Mazzer, and Fiorenzato. Our servicing comes with appropriate warranty options as standard.
Cafe Supplies & Ancillary Products
Our range of cafe supplies and ancillary products includes takeaway cups and biodegradable packaging, dairy and dairy alternatives, chai, chocolate, tea, cleaning products, napkins, straws, and carry trays. We’re the largest supplier of cafe consumables in the region, with fast, free and reliable delivery available for existing coffee customers.
Barista Training & Business Support
We provide barista training and business consultation, including menu development and operational advice, as part of our comprehensive and integrated cafe support. Learn the basics or perfect the art of coffee making, with professional learning experiences for your team or business hosted at your venue.
White Label Coffee Roasting
We offer white label coffee roasting and coffee packaging design services, enabling businesses to build or strengthen their own brand with customised coffee blends. This service includes initial consultation, bean selection, custom roasting, quality assurance, packaging, and ongoing delivery.

We work tirelessly with local cafes, businesses, and community members to help businesses make their mark, strengthen their branding, and grow with confidence. Our coffee fuels the local population, with our flagship cafe, Blackbird Espresso, home to our own signature blends. We also provide custom blends to plenty of other popular cafes in the Far North Queensland region, from Tully to Daintree.
